About Marijus

Marijus Briedis is a cybersecurity expert and the chief technology officer (CTO) of NordVPN at Nord Security. He started his professional journey as an IT specialist at a government center before moving into freelancing as a web developer. Marijus later joined Nord Security as a Linux administrator, where he gained hands-on expertise that eventually prepared him for the CTO role.

When Marijus isn't stuck in meetings, he's immersing himself in causes beyond technology. He is passionate about a wide range of areas, including arts and culture, education, and economic development. He's equally committed to supporting humanitarian efforts, environmental sustainability, and human rights. Volunteering in Nicaragua was a transformative chapter in Marijus' life — experiencing a new culture gave him a unique perspective on work and humanity.

Marijus describes himself as an IT fanatic and a lifelong learner who approaches the world with a smile and a positive mindset. He believes three traits have shaped his journey: curiosity, adaptability, and perseverance.
